I started out as an illustrator while in the Marine Corps., then found myself in the digital arts world of the Video Game industry for about 10 years. I have an Associates Degree in Animation Arts and Design and a Bachelors Degree in Media Arts and Animation from the Seattle Art Institute. Somewhere in the midst of burning out on illustration and digital arts, I discovered the camera and found my passion. I work as a project manager during the "day". But in my spare time I love to capture people and the world around us. I tend to have darker influences, and shy away from the cliche as much as I can, if only to attempt to explore and find my voice as well as capture the less targeted aspects of our world. My first loves are street photography, and mixing models with urban decay. My inspiration for my take on these subjects is the concept of "Emotional Realism" which I self describe as targeting uncomfortable emotions within ourselves that we avoid at great cost, in an effort to help people recognize the great strength that comes from accepting the entire human experience. But in general, I love to educate people of all shapes and sizes that they are beautiful and should not be fake, or hide from the lens or themselves. I have much to learn still and plan for this to be a life long adventure in learning. I hope you enjoy my work.
